Flat evacuated after smoke alarm sounds

A FLAT in Mersey Street, Warrington was evactuated last night after reports of a smoke alarm sounding.
The precautionary evacuation was ordered by firefighters from Penketh who arrived at the scene around 6.30pm.



But it was discovered the smoke was cause by bread being burnt and no-one was affected. A ventilation unit was used to disperse smoke in the flat.
One fire engine attended.
