RETAILERS from Warrington’s Golden Square Shopping Centre startled racegoers at Chester when they stage what is claimed to be the first-ever flash mob dance at a racecourse.
More than 100 fashionable fillies from the shopping centre flaunted their outfits to take part in one of the biggest flash mob dances seen in Cheshire.
Dancers performed the specially choreographed surprise routine in front of the County Stand as the key event during an evening to highlight a campaign aiming to make races more mainstream and modernize the profile of racing.
Ian Cox, marketing manager at Golden Square said: “This was a fantastic opportunity to get Golden Square shopping centre and Chester Racecourse involved in something really ground breaking.
“We knew that it would be a fun to try the flash mob at the races, but couldn’t believe the amazing response.”
* For the benefit of the uninitiated, a flash mob is a large group of people, organised via social media or emails, who assemble suddenly in a public place, briefly perform an unusual act, then quickly disperse.
