Three fire crews help rescue man from River Mersey

THREE fire crews were called out during the early hours of this morning to rescue a man who had fallen into the River Mersey at Bridgefoot, Warrington.

The incident took place at around 1.40am after firefighters were called to reports that a man had fallen into the River Mersey.



Firefighters from Warrington, Lymm and Penketh attended the scene and used a water throw to secure the man.
Two swift-water personnel were then deployed to rescue the man, who was then passed to the care of paramedics.
The crews were in attendance for around 75 minutes.
