Posters an eyesore claim

POSTERS left in Stockton Heath after the events they were advertising had passed are an eyesore according to a local resident.
Patrick Mullee complained to Stockton Heath Parish Council about posters for events such as Disability Awareness Day and Stockton Heath Festival.
He said: “All over the village there are posters on lamp posts – and they are not moved after the date.”
He said when he had campaigned to save the original Stockton Heath Primary School build, parish councillors – past and present – had gone out removing his posters.
Chairman Coun Graham Roughsedge said members would report the problem to the borough council and get the posters removed.
But Coun Tudor Pole, chairman of Stockton Heath Festival, pointed out the festival had finished only two days previously.
He said: “I have spent the past two days cleaning up and haven’t had the chance to take down the posters from the drainpipes. But they are not on public property.”

  1. An equally bad eyesore are the luminous posters stuck along Cromwell Avenue advertising the 365 day a year sale that the kitchen place is having! Now that is something that should be stopped because it looks crap and spoils the view of the industrial units as you drive towards IKEA!!

  2. Baz, north Warrington isnt allowed to look pretty, only Stockton heath, Appleton and Lymm…because they are “villages” us in north warrington are the dumping grounds for their supermarkets, car lots and factories..they object over a chip shop, we get no say if they want to build incinerators and dumps. that way their house prices go into millions while ours depriciate. Thats the north south divide.

  3. Both community events only finished late on Sunday night (11th) so it is understandable that some posters were still up a couple of days later. I believe both the Stockton Heath Festival and the Disability Awareness Day were amazing once again and a great time was have by many. Well done to everyone who spent many months organising both the events. Sadly I was on holiday so missed all the local fun yet again 🙁 Roll on next year as I’ve got my cushion ready for the open air cinema for starters 🙂
