A PLAN to double the size of an existing caravan storage site at Warrington has angered parish councillors.
Members of Penketh Parish Council have objected to the proposal which involves land off Warrington Road, Penketh.
They say they have received complaints from neighbours who have to look out directly onto the caravan storage are right behind their gardens and that there are also issues with the movement of caravans causing disturbance.
The parish council also claims there is currently no planning consent for anything on the site and such a change of use is not fitting within a residential area.
Currently, 12 caravans are stored on the site and the plan is to increase this to 24 by using adjacent land.
Officers say the site is not in the Green Belt and the principle of the development is acceptable.
Although the caravans are visible from properties in Warrington Road and Grange Drive, it is not considered the additional caravans would cause significant harm to the outlook. Planning law is clear there is no “right to a view.”
