Firefighters help rescue two people stuck in lift

FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington were called following reports that two people were stuck in a lift at Peninsula House on O’Leary Street.

On arrival at around 8.45pm on Friday evening, the crew made their way up to the eighth floor and lift motor room to gain access to the lift.
Two people were then rescued from the lift.



Meanwhile in another incident At 4.23pm on Saturday afternoon firefighters were called to reports of a car which had broken down and was smoking on the M62 westbound between junctions 11 and 10 at Birchwood.
Firefighters attended the scene and used a thermal imaging camera and found there was no signs of any fire.
It is believed that the smoke may have been caused by a blown head gasket.
