A NEW member has been invited to join the working party trying to get public toilets provided in Stockton Heath.
Resident Michael Foxall told Stockton Heath Parish Council he thought it was wrong that there were no public toilets in the village.
“If the borough council are telling us that because of the cuts they cannot provide the toilets – then could we not look at the possibility of opening them on a sponsored basis,” he said.
Chairman Coun Graham Roughsedge said although the toilets in the Forge car park had been closed because of “unsuitable behaviour” there, the borough had been closing public toilets for many years.
Coun Roughsedge said the borough council had said it was too expensive to provide toilets in the village. The working party was looking at ways to provide toilets in the village.
