Biker dies in crash

POLICE at Warrington today issued an appeal for witnesses of a tragic road accident in which a 37-year-old motor cyclist died.
The crash took place on Birchwood Park Avenue, Risley, Warrington last night (Thursday) at 7.20pm.
A red Honda CBR 600 motorbike ridden by a man from Stockport left the road and collided with a tree.
The rider was taken to Warrington Hospital by ambulance, but died as a result of his injuries despite the efforts of doctors and nurses.
After the crash the road was closed at Birchwood Park Avenue at its junction with Garret Fields and Glover Road until just before 11pm.
The deceased’s family have been informed but police say they are not yet in a position to release his name.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any information which can assist the collision investigator in his enquiries. Anyone who can help is asked to contact the Warrington Roads Policing Team on 0845 458 0000.
