FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus tackled a kitchen fire at a property at High Legh near Lymm, on Monday afternoon.
Shortly after 4pm crews from Lymm and Warrington attended to reports of a fire at a property on Golborne Lane, High Legh.
The fire was located in the kitchen and involved a cooker.
Wearing two breathing apparatus, crews used a hose reel to put out the flames.
A large fan was used to disperse smoke and crews checked the roof to see if the fire had spread.
Everyone inside the house was accounted for.
More than half of accidental fires at home are started by cooking, often when cookers & grills are left unattended.Make sure saucepan handles don't stick out, & get knocked off. Take care wearing loose clothing, they can easily catch fire and keep tea towels away from the cooker. pic.twitter.com/6P8txO9n3d
