Care home praised for commitment

A CARE home in Warrington has been officially endorsed for its commitment to helping residents live well until the end of their life.
Westvale House Care Home, at Old Hall, has obtained an accreditation with the Gold Standards Framework. The Gold Standard education and training programme has been provided by Warrington Community Services Unit (CSU) to care home staff, to ensure the best quality end of life care is delivered to all.
Seven staff members from Westvale House will be attending the Gold Standard Accreditation Award Ceremony in Birmingham on June 30 to receive their certificates.
Julie Bills, the community matron end of life lead for care homes for the CSU said: “We are delighted that our training has enabled Westvale House Care Home to establish itself as a facility that places great emphasis on choice for patients and families at the end of life.”
The CSU is also supporting seven other care homes in the Warrington area to achieve the Gold Standards Framework accreditation.
