A MAN has been arrested after two separate incidents in which young girls were approached by a man in a red BMW.
In one incident, a girl was dragged into the car but managed to escape after a struggle and in the other, two girls were asked if they wanted a lift but ran off when the man got out of the car.
Both incidents happened on Saturday evening at Lymm.
The first was at about 7pm in Rushgreen Road, near to the junction with Greenacres.
A 14-year-old girl was walking alone when she was grabbed by a man and forced into his car – a bright red, older-stle four door BMW 3 series.
There was a short struggle and girl managed to escape, suffering scratches to her arms.
The second incident was about half-an-hour later in Bridgewater Street, Lymm.
A man approached two young girls, one aged 11, and asked if they wanted a lift.
He got out of a red BMW car, stumbling as he did so, and the two girls ran off.
He got back into the car and drove off.
Police issued a warning to young girls and their parents – but later revealed that a 47-year-old local man had been arrested and was awaiting questioning by detectives.
