Town centre surgery to launch

POLICE are to launch a new weekly “surgery” in Warrington town centre to give members of the public an opportunity for face-to-face talks with local officers.
The Wednesday meetings will start at Warrington Library, in Museum Street, from June 16.
Officers from Warrington Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Unit are holding the regular drop-in sessions for anyone who lives in, works in or visits the town centre.
They will be held 11am and noon.
PCSO Pauline Stanway said: “This is the first surgery of its kind in the town centre and we are urging anyone who visits the town centre – whether that be for working, shopping or socializing – to come along and speak to local officers.
“This is the ideal opportunity to talk to us about any issues or concerns you might have regarding the town centre. It is also an opportunity for residents to raise any issues with us regarding the area in which they live.
“If people have issues in their own area they can speak to us about it and we will pass on the information to the relevant neighbourhood policing team for that area for it to be acted upon. The surgeries are informal and people can talk to us on a one-to-one basis in confidence.”

  1. 11am to noon on a Wednesday. Not much use to those who work in town if it’s not when they can take their lunch break. And no use at all to the vast majority who live in the town and work elsewhere.
