A number of road closures and temporary 20mph speed limits are set to be introduced across Warrington from April 12, for a period of up to six weeks to carry out resurfacing works.
Each project is expected to take between one and five days, depending on weather conditions.
Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving, clearway & 20 mph speed limit restriction as follows: Ordnance Avenue from Admirals Road to Moss Gate; Fearnhead Lane from Cinnamon Lane to Crab Lane; Laburnum Lane from Friends Lane to the Borough Boundary; Stretton Road from Swinley Forest Drive to Walnut Tree Lane; A573 Golborne Road from change of speed limit north of Spires Garden to Parkside Road.
The Order will be effective from 12th April 2021 for 6 weeks between 9:30am and 3:30pm when signed on site. The works are weather dependent and it is envisaged the works will only take between 1 and 5 days at each location. Access will be under the control of the relevant contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative routes will be: Ordnance Avenue via Oakwood Gate, Birchwood Way, Moss Gate and vice versa; Fearnhead Lane via Insall Road, Blackbrook Avenue, Birchwood Way, Crab Lane and vice versa; Laburnum Lane via Sandy Lane, A57 Warrington Road, A57 Liverpool Road and vice versa; Stretton Road via A49 London Road, Longwood Road, Dipping Brook Avenue, Blackcap Road and vice versa; Golborne Road via A49 Newton Road, A49 Winwick Road, A49 Mill Lane, A572 Southworth Road and vice versa.
The restrictions are required for carriageway surface dressing.
