No new deaths and 12 new COVID-19 cases but infection rates rise for second day

WHILE no new deaths have been reported at Warrington Hospital and just 12 new cases confirmed in the town, COVID-19 infection rates over a seven-day period have risen for a second consecutive day.

The 12 (18) new cases in the latest daily update from Public Health England, which is the lowest since 4 on September 1st last year, means the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 17,238 (17,226).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days, previous days/updates in brackets, are 174 (167) – 82.9 (79.5) per 100,000 population, continuing an upward trend over a seven-day period for a second consecutive day. This compares to the national rate of 60.4 (62.2) per 100,000.
