Top award for college

A WARRINGTON college has achieved a top national quality standard for the second time.
Warrington Collegiate has again picked up the Matrix Standard award.
The Matrix Standard is the national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice or guidance in learning and work. The assessments are based on achieving outstanding end-results that anyone studying at the college or working with the organisation can consistently hear, see and experience.
The Matrix Assessor judged the Collegiate’s approach to quality improvement as impressive, involving staff, students and partners. In addition to being granted re-accreditation, a number of departments have also been recognised for their excellent practice.
Many areas of exceptional practice were identified in information, advice and guidance services across the college. This included the admissions process, support provided to learners by tutors, learning coaches, assessors and support services, and services provided to employers.
Principal Paul Hafren said: “Since the college’s last review three years ago, we have improved in each area of the assessment. To have achieved this re-accreditation is evidence of the hard work we put into maintaining our high standards, which includes focussing on and responding to the needs of our students, employers and stakeholders.
“Being recognised by an organisation like Matrix is a testament to the dedication of our staff and we’re honoured and proud to maintain this accreditation.”
