Firefighters tackle car fire on Lovely Lane

FIREFIGHTERS were called out shortly after 7.30pm last night to tackle a car fire on Lovely Lane, Warrington.

One fire engine from Warrington attended the fire, believed to be caused by an electrical fault involving a battery in the boot of the vehicle.
Crews isolated the battery and damped down the affected area.
Earlier in the evening, shortly after 6pm one crew attended a fire on land off Hollins Lane, Winwick, Warrington.
The crew used a hose reel jet to put out the fire which involved wood. Horses in a nearby field had to be removed to protect them from the smoke.
