Roadworks on congested route

3

MAJOR roadworks on one of the Warrington area’s most congested routes are to start on Monday (May 24).
The work involves the A574 Warrington Road at Glazebury between the railway bridge near the Chat Moss pub and Waltham Avenue.
The road will be resurfaced and while the work goes on, one lane will be kept open.
There will also be a 10mph speed limit through the roadworks for safety reasons because of the narrowness of the highway at this point.
There will also be temporary traffic lights and traffic will be led through the roadworks by a clearly marked convoy vehicle.
Work will be carried out between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday and all temporary speed restrictions will be lifted outside working hours.
Access for pedestrians will always be available, but vehicle access and parking may be restricted at certain times. Work will be done in sections so local traffic can reach the side roads and properties on Warrington Road.
Access to Glazebury School will not be affected and Hurst Lane will be kept open. A crossing patrol will be provided at school closing time when the puffin crossing is switched off.
Bus services will run as usual though there will be temporary bus stops in use at times.

  1. The residents of Glazebury should be glad they are having their roads maintained and resurfaced.

We in the south of Warrington have to suffer deterioating road surfaces, Potholes , the A56 from Grappenhall through to Agden is particularly blighted by these problems. A little inconvenience is a small price to pay for maintenace of road surfaces.

  2. Now you will be in trouble Baz 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 I’d make your own coffee for now if I was you ! 🙂

As for Warrington South…. the tarmacers (if there is such a word) have been fixing odd bits of pavements round my way for the past two days. Admittedly not fixing the potholes in the roads yet but they are at least getting a bit closer 🙂
