Council seeks foster carers

WARRINGTON Borough Council is seeking people with the will and skill to become foster carers.
The council’s fostering team is supporting a national campaign to encourage more people to become foster carers.
Foster care fortnight (May 17-30) is the ideal time for people to find out more about fostering and the skills and qualities needed to be a modern foster carer.
The team has organised an open day for Tuesday June 1 between 1pm – 6.30pm at the Gateway, Sankey Street, and the council’s adoption team will also be taking part.
Foster carers have a vital role to play in giving children and young people in care the best possible chance in life.
The recruitment drive aims to fill the shortage of around 10,000 foster carers across the country.
This shortage means that far too many children live a long way from home, family and school, often apart from their brothers and sisters.
