Firefighters called out to bin fire at hotel

FIREFIGHTERS from Birchwood were called out during the early hours of this morning following reports of a fire in a room at the Penta Hotel.

The incident took place shortly after 2am when one crew was called to a bin fire in a hotel room at the premises on Aston Avenue, on Birchwood Park
The fire was out on arrival and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to ensure the fire was fully out while checking for hot spots with a thermal imaging camera.
They then used a large fan to disperse the smoke.

In another incident, one fire crew from Stockton heath was called out at 2:43 following reports of a car on fire in Kimberley Street, Warrington.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to put out the fire.
