Slight downward trend continues as latest data reveals Warrington’s COVID-19 hot spots

1

WHILE new data from Public Health England still shows a downward trend of new COVID-19 cases some areas of Warrington remain hot spots with increases.

At Callands & Old Hall numbers from the previous week more than doubled from 9 to 20 while in nearby Hood Manor & Sankey Bridges there was an increase from 5-15.

But overall the released numbers of cases in areas of Warrington for seven days ending on 5th December saw a reduction from 278 to 250 with three areas of the town recording less than three new cases in Woolston, Appleton Thorn, Stretton and Walton and Appleton.

Total 250 (278)

Three of the areas show * instead of a number. For these areas the ONS disclosure rules prevent the actual numbers being published because they are less than 3 in each area. However by comparing total cases in Warrington for the relevant date with the small area numbers there were a total of 5 cases distributed across the three areas marked with a *. This is not reflected in the case numbers on the map because of uncertainty.
It would unreliable to assume that any of these three areas had no cases on the 5th December.
