Two more COVID-19 deaths and 29 new cases show slight downward trend

TWO more patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 while 29 new cases have been confirmed in the town, showing a slight downward trend in infection rates, as the UK recorded 20,964 more cases-the highest daily rise since mid-November.

The 29 (45) new cases in Warrington in the latest daily update from Public Health England takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 8,566 (8,537).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days are 255 (259) – 121.4 (123.3) per 100,000 population – which shows a slight downward trend in infection rates.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 rates in England are now highest in London, while infections have plateaued nationwide, separate figures show.
