LOCAL artist Lauren Clements-Paterson is auctioning off her original art to help raise funds in memory of a teenage friend who tragically took her own life.
This Saturday, December 12 Lauren is auctioning off her original art and donating 50% to the Adrian Derbyshire Foundation and the Julia Derbyshire Campaign.
The Warrington based Julia Derbyshire Campaign #SASSY (Support Against Self Harm & Suicide in Youth), set up by her dad Adrian, supports teens and their families who self harm and have attempted suicide.
Lauren said: “My dear friend Julia took her own life at just sixteen years of age due to emotional and physical abuse in the community and online.
“One on One mentoring, speaking to groups, Julia’s #SASSY campaign has successfully spoken and educated close to 20,000 teens since Julia died in October 2015.
“Julia was also an Organ Donator and saved lives through donation. She has been awarded The Order of Saint John.
“#SASSY has struggled this year, like many other charities that rely on public outreaches for funds.
“I want to give something back, the one way I know how….draw!!
“As an independent artist in Warrington I want to create something positive in this unprecedented year. Why not finish it on a high?!”
