A TRAINING manager with a home care provider at Warrington has been named a national winner in an award scheme for “Covid Heroes.”

Caitlin Bradley, training manager with Bluebird Care, Warrington, was nominated for her outstanding work in keeping staff training up to date to maximise protection for customers.
Bluebird Care has a franchise network of more than 200 businesses, and each year they host their own annual awards. But, in light of Covid-19 and the bravery, heroism and effort shown by all team members decided to organise a special “Covid Heroes” award.
The initiative was designed to reward members of care teams for their work throughout the pandemic – acknowledging those who have gone above and beyond to weather the crisis and support both their customers and the other members of their teams.
Fifteen team members were shortlisted and, following a virtual ceremony, Caitlin was declared a national winner.
Since the start of the pandemic, Caitlin has put everyone’s safety at the forefront of what she does and found innovative ways to ensure staff are trained to above-industry standard.
She has run socially distanced training, using video calls and pre-recordings of herself to ensure the team keep up with the latest Covid-19 guidance.
Caitlin began her career in the care sector as a care assistant, so she knows what it takes and how best to advise fellow team members.
She said: “I was so humbled to find out I had been nominated as one of Bluebird Care’s Covid Heroes. We are all one big team and to me, I’m just doing my job. It’s been such a nice surprise during a time that has been so different.
“I absolutely love training and am happy that I have been able to adapt our processes to make sure we stay compliant and safe.”
Deputy manager of Bluebird Care Warrington and St Helens, Clare Toole, was also shortlisted in the top 15 finalists for the awards. She ensured all customer visits s went ahead throughout the pandemic and contacted customers to inform them of any changes made to usual protocols.
