Youth Cabinet to launch Warrington Youth Voice

WARRINGTON Youth Cabinet has made the decision to create an umbrella organisation for its group, to be called ‘Warrington Youth Voice’.

The decision comes after many recent developments in the quantity of youth voice schemes and sub-groups of the youth cabinet.
This new umbrella group is made up of six sections, these include 3 Youth-Departments, who carry out the main objectives whilst delivering projects, providing youth advisory services as
well as helping to collect data and supporting various schemes.
First is The Youth Cabinet, which is a combination of current Directors of Warrington Youth Cabinet. The Youth Cabinet will be responsible for the running of the different sections which make up Warrington Youth Voice.
Secondly is The Council of Youth Representatives. This is made up of young people who have been democratically elected by all of the other young people in the town. Finally, there is The
Youth Forum, who are a group which any young person can join and have their say.
Warrington Youth Voice will have a Board of Governors, this is made up of Warrington Borough Council Cabinet Members, The Mayor, Head Teachers and other adults who have experience of
working with young people especially in regards to welfare and safeguarding.
Louis Groarke, Chief Youth Officer said “After months of consistent hard work and success myself and my leadership team have concluded that the best thing to do is to create an umbrella
term/grouping for the many schemes and groups the Youth Cabinet own. I believe this new umbrella term/grouping will allow greater collaboration and co-working across the borough, which is something greatly needed as there are so many fantastic youth groups.”
“Warrington Youth Cabinet has been operating in pretty much the same way as Warrington Youth Voice will do, the only difference is the name and how we categorise the sections and
aspects of the current Warrington Youth Cabinet.”
“The Youth Cabinet will still exist however this will simply be in the form of a Cabinet/group of people instead of being used as the organisation name.”
“The Leadership team all feel as though this change is positive and much needed to prevent confusion moving into the future and to ensure our sustainable growth in line with our ambitions.”
“In reality nothing has changed apart from the name. Warrington Youth Voice will still carry out and take part in the same things as Warrington Youth Cabinet has done over the past year.”
“Moving forward as Warrington Youth Voice we will be collaborating with the other youth groups
to create a large network of young people.”
“Our website will also act as a directory for the other youth groups across Warrington which also take part in Youth Voice.”
(The website is currently warringtonyouthcabinet.com however it will be changing to warringtonyouthvoice.org)
