Vandalism threat to pond

A WARRINGTON based angling club has been hit by two incidents of vandalism.
Polystyrene has been scattered across a pond at Whitegate in Livingstone Close in Old Hall while tins of paint have also been strewn across the ground, with a potential threat to fish in the pond, which is used by Penketh and Old Hall Angling Club.
The club was hit with an arson attack at the beginning of March when a fishing platform was set on fire and now members fear they are being targeted following the recent incidents.
Club secretary Paul Bryan said: “There is no evidence of paint or tins reaching the pool, however had it done so, this may have had a detrimental affect on life in and around the pool and the matter may have become more serious.”
“Three children probably aged around 9 years of age were seen in the area and while they may not have caused the damage, they may at least know who did.”
He appealed for parents to be aware of what their children were doing in the area and for members of the public to report any suspicious behaviour.
