Temporary road closures extended

A TEMPORARY closure of two busy Warrington town centre streets is to be extended to allow work to be completed.
The order prohibits driving on Cairo Street (south bound traffic) from its junction with Rylands Street to its junction with St Austin’s Lane and Barbauld Street (south bound traffic) from its junction with Rylands Street to its junction with Friars Gate.
It was due to end on Monday, but has been extended for a further three weeks until May 17. This will allow United Utilities to complete water main and service pipe renewal.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling on Cairo Street will be via Rylands Street, Barbauld Street and St. Austins Lane, and the alternative to the section of Barbauld Street will be via Rylands Street, Bridge Street and Friars Gate.
