Spirit of Christmas past alive and kicking at Lymm Dickensian Festival

1

THE spirit of Christmas past was alive and kicking at the annual Lymm Dickensian Festival.

Despite overcast skies thousands of people packed into Lymm village for the annual event which takes place every year to help boost trade in the run up to Christmas.

Visitors were able to browse a varied selection of stalls and enjoy entertainment provided by local schools, choirs, bands, dramatic groups and street entertainers.

The official opening of the Dickensian parade was led by village town crier AJ Powell and included a Santa dash through the village by members of Lymm Runners Club.

The event also included the addition of Santa’ Grotto where children could meet Father Christmas in the village hall for the first time.

Best dressed person was Rebekah Chapman who was surprised to hear she had won from Festival Chair Colin Oakley (see top picture).
She was up until late the night before making her costume!
