UP to five weeks of road closures and speed restrictions are looming on tghe Winwick Link Road next month (November).
The restrictions are required for carriageway resurfacing.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving, clearway and 20 miles per hour speed limit restriction as follows: A49 Winwick Link Road (Southbound) from M6 Junction 22 to A49 Newton Road (Northbound Only); Highfield Lane for its entire length.
The Order will be effective from 18th November 2024 for 5 weeks, between 7pm and 5am, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via A572 Newton Road, A572 Southworth Road, A49 Mill Lane, A49 Winwick Road and A49 Newton Road.
