Three men arrested following town centre distraction theft involving 82-year-old man

THREE men have been arrested following a distraction theft involving an 82-year-old man in Warrington town centre.

On Wednesday 25 September police were called to reports of a distraction theft in Warrington Town centre.

The victim, a 82-year-old man, had his wallet stolen containing £400, and a further £1,000 was used to purchase items using the man’s stolen cards.

Following CCTV enquiries, officers identified three suspects who were all circulated as wanted.

The trio were subsequently arrested by officers in Oxfordshire, yesterday, Thursday 3 October.

The three men, aged 22, 33 and 47, were all collected by officers from Cheshire Police and are currently being questioned in custody.
