PATIENTS provided positive feedback on The Village Dental Practice at Cuclheth, Warrington, during a recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC carried out this on-site announced assessment on 13 August 2024 at the Dental Practice on Warrington Road, Culcheth, and found the practice had met regulations.
The practice had systems to manage risks. Infection control procedures followed published guidance. Patients’ care and treatment were provided in line with current guidance. Patients were treated with dignity and respect. At the time of their assessment, patients could access care, support and treatment when required. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, these were not consistently adhered to.
The Village Dental Practice is in Culcheth, Warrington, and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. At the time of the assessment, the dental team included 3 dentists, 5 dental nurses (one of which was also the assistant manager), 2 dental hygienists, 1 dental therapist, and the practice manager. The practice had three treatment rooms. During the assessment they spoke with 2 dentists, 2 dental nurses, and the practice manager.
On the day of their visit, they received feedback from nine patients. Their responses and additional patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Patient comments included, “excellent service”, “very good” and “friendly staff.” The practice shared patient feedback with the team.
Inspectors were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken. Staff gathered feedback from patients, the public and external partners and demonstrated a commitment to acting on feedback. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
