One casualty taken to hospital after house fire

ONE casualty was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of some inhalation following a house fire on Loushers Lane, Warrington during the early hours of this morning.

At 01:37 crews from Warrington and Lymm were called out to reports of a fire at a property on Loushers Lane.

A fire in the ground floor of a property was put out by firefighters in breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet. Gas and electricity supplies were isolated and a high-pressure fan operated to clear smoke.

One casualty was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital as a precaution. Following a fire investigation, the cause is believed to be an electrical extension cable.
