VARIOUS road and footpath closures are scheduled to take place over a period of nine weeks in the Orford area of Warrington next month for surfacing works.
The work is set to start on October 7th and will be between the hours of 8.30 am and 5:30 pm, with local diversions in place.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Entire lengths of road: Hughes Avenue; Dorothea Street; Dudley Street; Halsall Avenue; Hunter Avenue; Roscoe Avenue; Warren Road; Part lengths of road: Mortimer Avenue from the junction with Lathom Avenue to the junction with West Avenue; Dudley Street full length of rear alleyway to Nos. 4 to 74; Hale Street from the junction with Longford Street to the junction with Fitzherbert Street; Neville Avenue from the junction with Park Road to adjacent to No. 160; Neville Avenue from the junction with Park Road to adjacent to No. 32; Sandy Lane from the dead end adjacent to No. 74 to the junction with Tennyson Drive.
The Order will be effective from 7th October 2024 for 9 weeks, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be: Hughes Avenue via Festival Avenue, Capesthorne Road, Caldbeck Avenue and vice versa; Mortimer Avenue via Alder Lane, South Avenue, West Avenue and vice versa; Dorothea Street via Longford Street, Cowdell Street, Fitzherbert Street and vice versa; Dudley Street via Orford Lane, Longford Street, Earl Street and vice versa; Hale Street via Longford Street, Dorothea Street, West Avenue and vice versa; Halsall Avenue via Withers Avenue, Stapleton Avenue, Smith Drive and vice versa; Hunter Avenue via Gough Avenue, Poole Avenue, Locker Avenue, Crowe Avenue, Sandy Lane, St. Stephen’s Avenue and vice versa; Neville Avenue via Park Road, Capesthorne Road and vice versa; Neville Avenue via Bruce Avenue, Park Road and vice versa; Roscoe Avenue via Smith Drive, Lyndale Avenue, Hallows Avenue and vice versa; Warren Road via Park Road, Capesthorne Road, Birtles Road and vice versa.
The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.
