Two road closures of up to eight weeks in phases for Scottish Power works

TWO Warrington roads are facing up to eight weeks of closures in phases later this month to allow Scottish Power to carry out mains renewal and service transfer works.

The works are scheduled to start on Earl Street and Clegg Street on September 23rd, witht he work in phases with only one street closed at any time.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: Earl Street from its junction with Longford Street to its junction with St Benedicts Close.; Clegg Street from its junction with Earl Street to its junction with Orford Lane.
The Order will be effective from 23rd September 2024 for 8 weeks, as and when signed on site. The works will be carried out in phases with only one street closed at any one time. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be signed on site. The closures are required to allow Scottish Power to carry out mains renewal and service transfer works.
