GRAPPENHALL went down by three wickets at Bowdon in a game they were hoping to win.

The result left them hovering just one place about the Cheshire County League premier division relegation zone – and Bowdon one place above them.
Tom MacRury top scored with 69 and there were useful innings from Arav Shetty, 37, and William Fell, 32, as Grappers compiled 193 in 41 overs.
At 52-4 the home side looked in trouble and even at 129-5 the game was still in the balance.
But the later batmen took a grip on the game and guided Bowdon to 197-7 and a 20 point victory,.
MacRury, with 3-57, was the picked of Grappenhall’s bowlers.
Grappenhall 2nd won by 33 runs at Nantwichj, batting first and hitting 206. The home side were all out for 173.
G Burns, 73 and Ross Arrowsmith, 67 not out were key batters for Grappers while Stanley Pennington, 4-24 was the top bowler.
Grappenhall 3rd won by 73 runs hosting Stockport Georgians, Iain Wright hitting 55 and Ben Clissold 50 out of Grappers’ total of 212-8.
Clissold was also in form with the b all, taking 4-24 as the Stockport side were bowled out for 102.

In the Cheshire League division one leaders Warrington won by nine wickets after dismissing Woodford for 128. Ashley Scholes and Brad Roden took three wickets each. Liam Jenkins top scored with 59 not out when Warrington replied.
Lymm Oughtrington Park won by eight runs in a close-fought game at home to Wirral.
The reliable Antonnel Atwell top scored with 51 as Lymm hit 130 and Kishan Megharaj took 5-37 as the visitors were bowled out for 122.
Appleton, 111 all out, went down by one wicket hosting Holmes Chapel, 114-9.
Glazebury crashed to a 165-run defeat at the hands of Tranmere Victoria after a batting collapse.
Other matches: Glazebury 2nd, 133-9 beat Appleton 3rd 132-6
Appleton 4, 180-6 beat Warrington 4th, 98.
Warrington 3rd, 288-6 beat Martime, 148
Lymm Oughtrington Park 2nd, 64, lost to Nortwich, 67-3.
