TRAIN operator Northern is offering half-price “school run” tickets for the entire 2024-25 academic year.
The company hopes the discount will convince children under 16 and their parents or guardians to convert their school run from road to rail.
The discount is available until Friday, September 20 through Northern’s Under 16 Education Season Ticket scheme.
Warrington schools taking part in the scheme include Birchwood High, Great Sankey High and UTC Warrington.
A number of schools outside Warrington are also taking part, enable students to travel out of the borough to school
A sample saving from Cheshire is £358. annual cost of an Under 16 education season ticket compared with £716 annual standard child ticket.
