WITH tens of thousands of music fans arriving over the Bank Holiday for the annual Creamfields Festival starting today, Warrington South MP Sarah Hall has urged revellers to avoid dangerous or unknown illegal substances.

There will also be a number of planned road closures and restrictions around the Daresbury festival site affecting travel. Details can be found here.
Motorists should expect heavier traffic over the weekend, particularly on Monday as festivalgoers depart.

Sarah Hall MP for Warrington South said: “Creamfields is one of the largest music events in the world bringing together dance music fans from as far away as New Zealand. To have an event on our doorstep is a great boost for our local economy.
“However, I do understand some residents may face disruption be that from traffic restrictions or noise.
“If you would like to raise any concerns about the festival please contact the organisers directly through their dedicated hotline.
“If any constituents would like to raise any issues following the festival, you can of course get in touch and email me on [email protected].
“Many Warrington South residents will be attending the Creamfields festival and I hope that everyone enjoys their experience over the Bank Holiday weekend, but it’s important that everyone remains safe.
“I am therefore urging festivalgoers to avoid taking dangerous or unknown illegal substances, not only is it a risk to your own life but you could end up with a criminal record. It’s not worth it.
“Festival staff will be on hand to ensure the welfare and safety of all attendees, so if you do need assistance, please reach out to them, they are there to help.
“Finally, for all those attending, I hope you have a fantastic weekend of fun and dancing.

Anyone wishing to contact the Creamfields organisers about sound complaints or other related issues can do so via telephone 0207 688 8900 or email [email protected].
Last year police arrested 118 people, mostly for drug offences, and searches of the festival site have already recovered illegal substances. Searches will be conducted on entry to the festival to ensure all attendees can remain safe.
