Various road closures and traffic restrictions on Thelwall Lane to allow electrical network upgrade

VARIOUS road closures and traffic restrictions are set to come into force on Thelwall Lane, Latchford, to allow Scottish Power to upgrade its electrical network.

To help minimise traffic disruption the works are scheduled to take place over three consecutive weekends.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is as follows: –
Prohibition of Driving: Thelwall Lane from its junction with Kingsway South to its junction with Poachers Lane.
Prohibition of Movement: Prohibit vehicles proceeding in an east bound direction on the classified section of Thelwall Lane to make a straight-ahead movement across Kingsway South into the unclassified section of Thelwall Lane.
Temporary Suspension: Nook Lane – Suspension of existing 7.5T weight limit.
The Order will be effective from 17th August 2024 with the restrictions in place as follows: 17th August to 18th August 2024; 24th August to 25th August 2024; 31st August to 1st September 2024. The restrictions will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via Kingsway South, Reynolds Street, Nook Lane and vice versa. The restrictions are required to allow Scottish Power to upgrade its electrical network.
