Three men arrested thanks to Police Dog “Speedy”

THREE men have been arrested thanks to Police Dog “Speedy” after a stolen car crashed into two parked vehicles on Manchester Road, Warrington.

The arrests took place during the early hours of Thursday morning after police, supported by the police helicopter and Alliance Police Dogs, attended the scene of the collision after officers had attempted to stop a car which had been stolen on Bruche Road.

The car failed to stop and was involved in a collision with two parked cars on Manchester Road.
Police dog “Speedy” was on hand to help find one man hiding under a fence panel and another in a garden.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “Police have arrested three men after they failed to stop for police in Warrington.
“At 1.14am on Thursday, August 1, police officers attempted to stop a car, which had been stolen, in Bruche Road.
“The car failed to stop and was discovered a short time later to have been in collision with two parked cars in Manchester Road.

“A search was made of the area, with the help of the police helicopter and Alliance police dogs, and three men aged 20, 22 and 26 were located and arrested.
“The 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle, no insurance and a positive drug wipe for cannabis and cocaine.
“The 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, driving without insurance and a positive drug wipe for cannabis and cocaine.
“The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, a positive drug wipe for cannabis and cocaine and a public disorder offence.”
