WARRINGTON’S iconic Treasury building provided the backdrop for a new advertisement featuring celebrity singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor who arrived in town yesterday.

Bestest known for her smash hit Murder on the Dance Floor Sophie Ellis-Bextor was part of the filming inside the Treasury Building, which has been transformed into restaurants and bars.

The English singer and songwriter first came to prominence in the late 1990s as the lead singer of the indie rock band Theaudience.
After the group disbanded, Sophie Ellis-Bextor went solo and achieved success beginning in the early 2000s. Her music is mainstream pop and dance with influences of disco, nu-disco, and 1980s electronic music

It is understood filming was taking place to record a new advertisement for former catalogue giant Freemans.

Freemans, which used to have a catalogue, is now an online retailer for clothes, toys, and electronics.
Film crews and security had a heavy presence in Palmyra Square during the day.
