Grappenhall go down by 54 runs at home

GRAPPENHALL went down by 54 runs at home to high-flying Didsbury in the Cheshire County League ECB premier division.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first on a good batting wicket.
Grappers’ bowlers toiled in the heat and stuck to their task, Arav Shetty takking 3-64 in 15 overs.
Tom Bramhall, Tom MacRury and Joe Ashmore each picked up two wickets but the visitors posted a challenging total of 241 in 48 overs.
When Grappers replied, Shetty opened and set the pace with a blistering 114 from 119 balls, including 13 fours and two sixes.
But he got little support from the rest of the batting line-up, MacRury’s 19 being the next highest score.
They were all out for 187.
Grappenhall 2nd lost by seven wickets at Heaton Mersey after being tumbled out for 62.
In the Cheshire Cricket League division one, Warrington’s drive for the title continued with an 82-run victory at Cholmondeley.
Asked to bat first, they hit 213 in 45 overs, with Liam Jenkins tlop-scoring with 54.
The home side were bowled out for 131 Jenkins took 3-31 and A.Ali 3-10.
Appleton won by 83 runs at Bowdon Vale after hitting 215-8. Top-scorer was Ian Richards, who hit a superb 114 not out.
The home side could only reach 135 with Dave Sujith taking 5-33.
Lymm Oughtrington Park won by 62 runs at home to Aston.
Batting first, they hit 160-9, A Pillai hitting 78.
The visitors were bowled out for 108, Antonelli Atwel l taking 3-26.
Glazebury were beaten by 10 wickets after being dismissed for an embarrassing 25 at Frodsham.
