WARRINGTON strengthened their position at the top of the Cheshire Cricket League division one with a seven wicket victory over Stockport Trinity in a rain-affected game.

Trinity batted first and hit 119-8, with A Ali taking 4-9 for Warrington.
Interruptions for rain left Warrington with a revised target of 103 which they duly reached for the loss of three wickets, Ashley Scholes top scoring with 42 not out.
The result means Warrington are well on course for promotion back to the Cheshire County League following their relegation last year.
Meanwhile, in the County League ECB Premier Division, Grappenhall, missing a number of key players, are currently finding the going hard.
Hosting Widnes – who they beat earlier in the season – they went down by three wickets.
Batting first they hit 166-9 declared, with the bulk of the runs coming from Adam Royhlance, 34, Tom Bolingbroke, 35 and Zak Judge, 29 not out.
Widnes finished on 167-7, with Joe Ashmore the pick of the Grappers’ bowlers with 3-57.
Appleton went down by two wickets against Aston.
Adam Pearson, 59 not out, top scored for Appleton and Guy Colligan hit 49.
Aston claimed victory with 157-8, despite Mansoor Safi taking 5-37 for Appleton.
Lymm Oughtrington Park lost heavily against Knutsford, who hit 135, With Anthony Spaven, 4-38 and Rich Parkinson, 4-9 the pick of the Lymm bowlers.
Lymm were tumbled out for a meagre 68.
Glazebury also suffered a heavy defeat, bowled out for 50 in 20 overs after Chester County Officers had hit 230-9.

Grappenhall 2nd lost by six wickets at Macclesfield, Ross Arrowsmith 47.
Grappenhall 3rd won by one wicket at home to Nantwich, Dave Coyne hitting 40.
Warrington 2nd lost by four wickets at Romiley; Warrington 3rd won by 36 runs at home to Lymm Oughtrington Park 2nd.
Appleton 2nd won by 27 runs at Neston; Appleton 3rd lost by two runs at home to Bowdon Vale; Appleton 4th lost by seven wickets at Westminster Park.
Glazebury 2nd beat North East Cheshire by 64 runs, Mohammed Khan 64 not out, Jason Lewis 3-24.
