Eight-try Warrington Wolves thump scoreless Huddersfield

WARRINGTON Wolves returned to action after a week off with a resounding 48-0 win over Huddersfield Giants.

They had been scratchy in their last outing against Hull FC but any doubts over their form were put to bed with a dominant display.

It was one-way traffic from just two minutes when Paul Vaughan powered his way over for the first of eight tries.

Toby King gathered Josh Drinkwater’s pinpoint kick to double the lead and by halftime it was 18-0 thanks to Connor Wrench’s try, the conversion again added by Stefan Ratchford.

Warrington Wolves ran riot in the second half, again scoring early, this time through Drinkwater.

George Williams then got in on the act, putting on a try apiece for Matty Nicholson and Matt Dufty with kicks.

Then skipper Ratchford, playing at centre and perfect on the night with the boot, added a try of his own, before Rodrick Tai rounded off the scoring.

Next up for the hungry Warrington Wolves is Leeds Rhinos next Friday, kick-off 8pm at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
