Various road and footpath closures looming at Great Sankey

VARIOUS road and footpath closures are looming at Great Sankey, Warrington, next month, for up to nine weeks, for surfacing works.

The works are scheduled to start, week beginning August 5th between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be as follows: –
Temporary Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Marina Avenue from the junction with Liverpool Road to the break point in the road adjacent to George Road; Reaper Close from No. 61 to the junction with Payne Close; Cleveleys Road its entire length; Dorchester Road from the junction with Maliston Road to the junction with Fordington Road; Hilton Ave its entire length; Marina Avenue from the junction with George Road to the junction with Rozel Crescent; Ridley Drive its entire length; Rostherne Close from adjacent to Nos. 27/29 to end of cul-de-sac adjacent to No. 12; Sycamore Lane from adjacent to No. 105 to the junction with Dorchester Road; Thornton Road from the junction with Liverpool Road the junction with Fairhaven Close.
Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Marina Avenue and George Road, Great Sankey) (Traffic Management) Order 1993 in so far as it relates to Article 2 and the One Way on George Road.
The Order will be effective from 5th August 2024 for 9 weeks, between 8:30am and 5:30pm, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be: Marina Avenue via Liverpool Road, Hood Lane, Huntley Street, Malpas Drive Banbury Drive, Buckingham Drive and vice versa; Dorchester Road via Sycamore Lane, Hood Lane North and vice versa; Marina Avenue via George Road, Liverpool Road, Penketh Road and vice versa; Ridley Drive via Marina Avenue, Buckingham Drive, Banbury Drive and vice versa; Sycamore Lane via Dorchester Road, Sycamore Lane and vice versa; Thornton Road via West Drive, Victoria Road, Liverpool Road and vice versa. The restrictions are required for road or footway surfacing.
