OFFICERS from Warrington Neighbourhood Policing Unit have arrested a man and woman following a drugs raid in Bewsey and Whitecross.

At around 3.30 pm on Monday 1 July, officers executed a warrant at an address on Whitecross Road.

A 39-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were arrested at the address on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled Class B drug.

Officers also recovered a number of items, including controlled drugs, mobile phones and other drugs paraphernalia.
The woman has since been released on bail, while the man remains in police custody at this time.

Inspector Lee Hillyard, of Warrington Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This warrant is part of our ongoing efforts to tackle the supply of illegal drugs in Warrington and I hope it provides reassurance to local residents.
“Drugs have a hugely detrimental impact on our communities, causing widespread misery. As such, cutting off supplies of illegal drugs and removing dealers from our streets is of paramount importance.
“As part of our efforts to bring those responsible to justice, we also need support from the local community.
“I would appeal to anyone who has any information about illegal drug activity or any other criminal activity taking place in their communities to contact us on 101, via the website or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
