GRAPPENHALL salvaged a draw in a rain-affected game at home to Oxton.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first on a good wicket at Broad Lane – and hit a challenging 283-5.
Kiwis Tom MacRury was the pick of Grappenhall’s bowlers, taking 3-108.
Grappers – missing a number of key players – struggled from the outset and at 75-7 things did not look good.
MacRury again proved his value to the club with a hard-hit 44 from 29 balls, including six fours and two sixes. But no other batsman reached double figures until Zach Tully, who hit an unbeaten 19 in a defiant partnership with William Fell, who hung around for six not out, to take the score to 110-7.
It was then the rain intervened and the game ended in a draw.
The game earned Grappers seven points and enabled them to remain at number seven in the Cheshire County League ECB premier division.
In the Cheshire League, leaders Warrington suffered a shock defeat at lowly Barnton after putting the home side in.
Barnton – who are hovering just above the relegation zone – responded by hitting 222 all out. Brad Roden, 3-24 and John Knowles, 3-31, were the pick of Warrington’s bowlers.
Warrington were dismissed for 173, despite a fine innings of 79 from Ashley Scholes.
The result leaves Warrington still top of the division one table but with their lead cut to five points.

Appleton won by five wickets at Knutsford after bowling out the home side for 146 in 35 overs.
They then hit 147-5 in the 20 t overd.

The home side chose to bat first and hit 192-4.
Lymm could only muster 138 with skipper S Chatterjee top scoring with 57.
Glazebury battled out a nail-biting tie with Burton at Hurst Lane.
Batting first, Glazebury hit 233-9 in 45 overs – largely thanks to a commanding unbeaten 121 from Ben Marote. He got good support from Kyle Keeble, 29 and Seth Barnes, 23.
The visitors got off to a poor start but then rallied to finish the game with the scores level.
Marote was the pick of Glazebury’s bowlers with 3-57 while skipper Sean Caine took 2-19.
