Van driver arrested on suspicion of drug driving following collision

A van driver from Warrington was arrested on suspicion of drug driving following a two-vehicle collision at Daresbury.

At 4.08 pm on Tuesday 25 June police were called to a collision on Delph Lane, Daresbury.

Officers attended and found there had been a collision between a red Renault Captur and a white Ford Transit van.
There were no reports of any serious injuries.

The driver of the van, a 29-year-old man from Warrington, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and driving without due care and attention. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Fire engines from Runcorn and Widnes attended the scene and firefighters extricated two casualties from the car. The casualties were handed into the care of paramedics as crews made the scene safe.
