AN investigation is taking place to determine the cause of a fire at a block of flats in Bexhill Avenue, Warrington, yesterday (Sunday).
Police put a full road closure in place while firefighters tackled the blaze in the roof-space of the building.
Fire engines from Warrington, Lymm and Penketh attended, plus an aerial appliance from Lymm.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus took two hose reel jets into the building and ensured all occupiers are accounted for. The building was evacuated. Crews used a covering jet to fight the fire from the outside.
After the fire in the roof space was extinguished, crews used the aerial ladder platform to continue to dampen down from above.
There were no reports of casualties.
