RESIDENTS and the staff team at Westvale House Care Home in Old Hall, Warrington, are celebrating National Carers’ Week.

Staff were presented with some delicious treats and heartfelt words and inspirational quotes were written on thank you cards and shared throughout the home.
The week is an annual event to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges carers face, and recognising the contribution they make to care home residents, families and communities throughout the UK.
The theme for the week this year was “putting carers on the map” to try to raise awareness in an election year for the huge contribution carers make to society.
Senior regional director for Barchester Healthcare, who run Westvale House, , Lorraine Disley, dropped in to thank the carers.
She said: “It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate Carers Week and thank our fantastic carers. Caring for others truly takes a special kind of person and we a lucky enough to them in abundance at Westvale House’.

A resident commented: “They deserve all the thanks in the world, they are angels and really are heaven sent.”
The team at Westvale pride themselves on the varied life enrichment programme which keeps residents active and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
