Firefighters tackle skip blaze after smoke alarms activated at commercial building

ONE fire crew from Warrington was called out last night after a skip blaze started by youths activated smoke alarms at commercial premises.

At 21:30 firefighters attended reports of a fire on Hawleys Lane, Warrington.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to tackle a fire in a skip outside a commercial premises. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check the nearby premises for hot spots.
A high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke that had entered the building and set off smoke alarms.
The blaze had been started deliberately by youths at the rear of the commercial premises.
