THE historic Bluebell Inn, in Horsemarket Street, Warrington is set to get a facelift after planners gave the go-ahead.

The 18th century pub, which has a 19th century extension has been showing its age for some time.
But now borough council planning chiefs have approved an application for permission to erect new pub signs and repaint window frames, timberwork, etc.

They were told the proposals were to replace existing signs on a like-for-like basis to preserve the character of the building on the corner of Horsemarket Street and Lyme Street.
The Grade 2 listed building is one the most attractive old buildings in the town centre.
It was given a major refurbishment in 2016 when owners Greene King said it needed a makeover to enable it to compete with newer barns and restaurants in the town centre
Warrington Borough Council planners were told the company had a good reputation for looking after its historic pub buildings.
